German Beer Purity Law

We created Lucky Saint so that anyone choosing to go alcohol-free, for whatever reason, doesn't have to sacrifice the satisfaction of a great-tasting lager. But how is it possible to brew an alcohol-free beer with the body and flavour to rival any full-strength alternatives?

Alongside a meticulous six-week brewing process (read more about this on our earlier blogs, Progressive Brewing 1.0 and 2.0), the secret is in the ingredients.

We brew Lucky Saint in accordance with German Beer Purity Law otherwise known as Reinheitsgebot. This means we use just four natural ingredients: Pilsner Malt, Hallertau Hops, Bavarian spring water and Lucky Saint’s own single-use yeast. No additives, no adjuncts, no flavourings.

The Pilsner Malt delivers that light biscuity pilsner backbone, while the combination of Hallertau Hops and pure Bavarian Spring Water offers classic earthy notes, a balanced bitterness and a citrusy crisp finish.

Each ingredient is locally sourced near our Bavarian brewery and of the highest quality - when you only use four, they need to be the very best.
