Our Rural Staycation Hidden Gems

Our Rural Staycation Hidden Gems

With summer in full swing, there’s no better way to make the most of the sun than by exploring somewhere new without the hassle of going abroad. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite rural destinations across the UK that are worth a visit. All with pubs serving Lucky Saint nearby of course.

Uppermill, Saddleworth

Canals, stone cottages and rolling hills give Uppermill plenty of small-town charm. Spend the afternoon exploring Dovestone Reservoir before relaxing with a Lucky Saint in hand at The Church Inn.

Frome, Somerset

A haven for independent boutiques, artisan cafés and antique shops, Frome is one of Somerset’s most loved market towns and the perfect place to spend a leisurely day browsing. Round off your visit at the all-day restaurant and cafe-bar, Little Walcot.

Skipton, North Yorkshire

Known as the 'Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales', Skipton pairs medieval charm with one of England's best-preserved castles. Don't miss a leisurely canal boat cruise before stopping by The Bull for a refreshing pint of Lucky Saint.

Swinbrook, Cotswolds

Nestled on the banks of the River Windrush, Swinbrook is a picture-perfect Cotswold village made for leisurely weekends. Spend the day exploring riverside footpaths before enjoying a pint of our lager or bottle of our IPA at The Swan Inn, a historic country pub full of charm.

Romsey, Hampshire

With the New Forest on one side and the River Test on the other, Romsey makes an ideal base for a countryside weekend. We’d suggest exploring the woodland trails and country lanes by bike, making a stop at The Potters Heron in the afternoon.

Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

Nestled in the Pennines, Hebden Bridge is a favourite for walkers, food lovers and vintage hunters alike. Start with a coffee at the local’s favourite cafe, The Hermit, before heading for a walk around National Trust property, Hardcastle Crags, and finishing for a pint of Lucky Saint at the Robin Hood Inn.

Charlbury, Oxfordshire

Tucked away in the Cotswolds but easily accessible by train, Charlbury is full of independent shops and countryside walks. After exploring the surrounding Wychwood Forest, settle into The Bull and enjoy a pint with their famous pie followed by their Apricot Frangipane Tart.

East Dean, East Sussex

Just moments from the Seven Sisters, East Dean is the perfect place to escape the crowds of the south coast. Wander the dramatic coastline before heading back to The Tiger Inn, a charming village pub overlooking the green, for a well-earned pint of our Unfiltered Lager.

Albury & Shere, Surrey Hills

A convenient option for just outside London. Take a wander through two of Surrey's prettiest villages, pausing at one of the quintessentially English tearooms. Continue the trip by exploring the walking trails in the Surrey Hills, and heading over to The Drummond pub.

Holyhead, Anglesey

With steep cliffs, coastal walks and sweeping sea views, Holyhead is an ideal base for exploring Anglesey. End the day at The White Eagle, where you can enjoy a Lucky Saint while looking out across the beautiful coastline.
